It’s crunch time...

Well today I checked my bank balance and it was not a happy sight. Between vet bills and lack of earnings it’s been a tight couple of months and it’s going to get worse before it gets better. Therefore I am biting the bullet and embarking on a challenge that haunts the nightmares of makeup addicts everywhere. A No Buy (dun dun dun....)

This doesn’t mean I’m going to stop posting, I have enough recent buys in my stash to keep me going for a long, long time, and there exceptions to the rule. In fact here are some rules (If I make them public I have a better chance of sticking to them!):

1. The no buy is in effect from today until the 30th of June. By that time I will be working full time and heck it’s my birthday so I can buy if I want to!
2. I can (and will) buy makeup for my wedding. It’s my freaking wedding and I’m doing my own makeup. As a bare minimum I need a good foundation for it.
3. I can replace things that run out. Now it is unlikely that I will run out of anything really. I have more than enough of everything to keep me going. Expect triumphant posts celebrating if I actually hit pan on anything though!

Along with the posts in the coming soon section I have a few other things of note coming up. There will be a lot of NOTDs especially as my first ever Konad set should be arriving any moment and I have an entire draw full of polish. Which reminds me I bought Essie Mink Muffs in a blog sale the other day, can’t wait for it to arrive! I have a bunch of lip glosses and eye shadows that also need swatching and a fair few skin care products. Look out for an interesting post on homemade body scrubs too!

Have you ever embarked on a no buy? How hard did you find it? I need support here!

  1. I have tried about 3 no-buys already this year, all have failed! I think the idea of setting yourself rules and exceptions e.g. wedding makeup is a good idea as it'll stop you going off track with the whole thing if you just need to get one item.

  3. It's certainly going to be tough! My makeup collection isn't huge but it's more than enough for me to survive. I just have to steer clear of every shop in Scotland that sells makeup haha... x
