If you have read my previous post on my ‘you bought it so for crying out loud use it’ challenge (no I still haven’t come up with a snappy title) I have that grand total of 304 individual eyeshadow colours. This is just pressed colours, loose ones are a separate but thankfully much shorter list. Part of the reason for this excessive number is my collection of each and every Sleek eyeshadow Palette. I was asked to show pics of them all so here are the 6 ltd edition palettes. The permanent ones will follow soon.
The quality of these palettes is frankly outstanding and the price (it varies but around £5) just cannot be beaten. Obviously most of these are discontinued with the exception of Circus which is the most recent. Nonetheless I would move quickly if you want to nab yourself one either from Superdrug or Sleeks own website.
Circus is the most recent and the only one in the red packaging. Most of the shadows are matte apart from the deep purple, lime green and navy blue. As with all brands the shimmer are creamier and better pigmented than the mattes but I still maintain that Sleek do some of the best mattes around. This certainly isn’t a palette for the faint of heart but if you’re looking to add some colour to your collection this is a great place to start.
Bohemian is the only other palette not in the traditional black packaging. Some people welcomed the change, I just got grubby finger marks all over it. Again there are only three shimmers. The gorgeous olive green, copper and deep russet. That olive green is one of my favourite shadows full stop.
Safari actually contains my favourite shadow. That shimmery sea foam blue/silver/green four along on the top row. I frequently wear it as a wash of colour by itself and I love it. I may take this opportunity to point out the matte black that Sleek thoughtfully provide in almost every palette. They also always provide I highlight shade of some sort. We like.
Graphite is probably the most sought after discontinued palette. It’s certainly the one I paid the most for. If you like a smoky eye then this will be your favourite by far. Each shade of silver/ grey has a different undertone, different flash of colour. The deep indigoes in the bottom right are stunning too but for crying out loud don’t pay the silly prices some people are paying on eBay.
Jewels has some dark neutrals with some bright pops of colour that I love (well hello there you mint green thang you). Unfortunately it contains one of the two shadows from these palettes that I just cannot use. That gorgeous looking orange is a gritty, glittery mess. That said when you take into account the fact that with all these palettes (11 in total) I have 132 shadows 2 duds are not to be complained about.
Curious is mainly shimmers, even the black. The only non shimmer is the yellow which contains a fine silver glitter. The blackened olive in the top row is unique in my collection and the blue/ greens are just lovely.
So there you have it. The entire Ltd edition line of Sleek palettes. These are not impossible to find, in fact I only paid £3.50 for Curious on Amazon. Most of these have some fairly mad colours so if neutrals are more your thing, and if trawling the interwebs looking for discontinued items is not your thing, then you may find what you are looking for in the permanent collection. Stay tuned!
