The quest to wade my way through my box of samples continues. My search for the perfect eye makeup remover is well documented on this blog. One day I’ll find it, perhaps today? Cliniques Take the Day Off eye makeup remover is a bi phase remover meaning that it has two layers which you need to shake to mix before using. I haven’t tried this with waterproof mascara yet simply because I haven’t been using any recently. I have however tried it on a super heavy dark smokey eye and it tackled the panda eyes with ease.
As with all eye makeup removers I simply put some on cotton wool, hold it to my eye for a few seconds and then gently wipe away. I can’t smell any strong perfumes in it (though I have a cold) and thus far it hasn’t irritated my notoriously delicate under eye skin. There is a slight residue left on the skin but it disappears with a splash of water.
At £14 for a full sized bottle containing 125ml it is much cheaper than my beloved Lancôme Bi Facil which is £19.50 for the same amount. Then again the Botanics one I reviewed recently is pennies in comparison. I might buy this again in future as it is a decent price for a decent remover though being the cheap skate I am I’ll probably get it in one of the duty free packs you always see in airports x
