I bought this from a blog sale thankfully, I’d have been mad to pay full price for this. Don’t get me wrong. Plenty of people love this product and good for you if you do. I just can’t quite get my head around it. It’s essentially some posh water with added vitamins, minerals chamomile and other bits and bobs housed in a spray bottle. It’s £12.50 for 100ml.
I googled around looking for ways of using this. You can use it to foil eyeshadows (I find tap water works just as well), to set makeup (I find it makes it slide off faster) or just as a hydrating treat for your skin. It needs using up so what I’ve been doing is when I get in after work I’ll use a makeup remover wipe to get off the bulk of my foundation and then spritzing my face with the Fix+. It’s nice and refreshing on hot sweaty days although I haven’t noticed it really doing anything to my skin.
It’s cooling on hot summers days, although we haven’t had many of those yet in Scotland. Needless to say I wouldn’t bother repurchasing. I’d get the same effect splashing my face with cold water. And yet I feel that I’m missing the point here. It is a bit of a cult favourite so maybe I’m wrong? Let me know if you love or hate this. How do you use it? Where am I going wrong? X
*Bought by me in a blog sale*

I was at a MAC counter today and one of the girls sprayed this on my face. It didn't feel quite life changing to me either =(
ReplyDeleteWooow, Scotland!! My favorite country in Europe! :) It's so sunny and hot here in Croatia, so it would probably be good to have something like this to cool me :D

I can't believe the hype around this, £12.50 for something that's essentially water? I'm sure you could make your own. x
ReplyDeleteI love it. I don't particularly find it useful in any one way but the smell is amazing!
ReplyDeleteActually I do find it smooths out my foundation/powder etc if it's too cakey:)
I was so interested to see what you thought about this as our opinions are often the same. And yep, once again, I couldn't agree with you more. I bought mine when the Fix+ Rose version came out with A Rose Romance collection about 2 years ago and I ended up selling it still 95% full because I just didn't see the point of it. It's just glorified water imo, I use tap water for foiling and spraying my face with it just made it look greasy. So maybe I'm not doing something right either, or it really is just a waste of money. ;) But wait, this is nothing, there is something called Mineralized Charged Water out right now and that costs £21.50 for 100 ml! :O
ReplyDeleteI'm the same - I just can't make it work! I sprayed it on my face only to find blobs (which had also separated my makeup!) I find Evian spray works better as the mist is finer x
ReplyDeleteOnce a MAC SA sprayed it on me to "set" the foundation I was testing out, but I was oily and shiny within the hour. I didn't feel that it did anything. But like you, I feel like there's a mysterious property that isn't being utilized properly. BAFFLED.
ReplyDeleteI love it, it doesn't set my makeup (I'm going to try Model in a Bottle for that) but it does refresh and prep dry skin before makeup application.
ReplyDeleteIf you have foundation, powder or concealer that is to cakey or matte it will give you more of a dewy finish. I also use it to apply pigments and glitter, it helps the glitter to glide on and it makes the pigments more vibrant.
I bought Fix+ too, and i'll be honest - I never use it. I thought it was cool when I first bought it, but it really doesn't serve a purpose to me. oh well, you win some you lose some right? =)
ReplyDeleteAnita we are definitely makeup twins seperated at birth lol. Mineralized water? Erm I'll pass :p You'd have to be mad to pay that!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like quite a few of us agree on this one. We just don't get it! I think Ms Viva Glam might have the answer, maybe it's best for dry skin. On my oily skin it just doesn't do much
xxx
I bought this 3 yrs back and STILL HAVEN finished it. cause to be honest, I see no use and purpose for this other then to wet my eyeshadows and for refreshing myself?? I can live without this, it doesn't do nuts for my make up
ReplyDeleteyou know, people can rave about this all they want, i dont think i can bring myself to pay such a price for this product, i really can't xx
