November was a pretty good month for empties. I finally
finished the final two products of my project ten pan at the start of the month
and my cold weather induced dry skin meant that a few body lotions that have
been hanging around for a while finally bit the dust.
Benefit Badgal Plum mascara – I loved the colour and the
formula but the wand is just too big for my little eyes and the price (£16.50)
is just too high. I won’t be buying it again although I will miss it.
Clinique City Block Sheer – I used this as a primer and
whilst I like the high SPF I didn’t like the fact that if you use too much it
tends to ball up and go flaky. Yuck. It lasted for ages though and was
relatively inexpensive for what it is at £15.50. The flaky issue means I won’t
buy it again though.
ELF Oil Blotting sheets – Again I still don’t like the new
smaller size but they are super cheap and they work. I have plenty of backups.
Botanics Hand Cream – Love the SPF10 and its slightly oily
formula is great to very dry skin. I’ve had several of these and will buy it
again.
ELF Makeup Remover Cleanseing Cloths – my holy grail face
wipes. I have another 3 backups and will buy again.
Tiny bottle of Neutrogena Shampoo from a hotel – I just use
these to deep clean my makeup brushes.
Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub – I’m
an idiot and bought three of the Neutrogena face washes whilst they were on
offer ages ago. This was the best of a bad bunch but I still didn’t like it.
The fresh grapefruit scent is about all it had going for it.
Soltan Face SPF 50+ - I’ve been using the Soltan sunscreen
for years and lover them. I used this instead of moisturiser in the morning.
They have a new longer lasting version out that I would like to try although I
am enjoying the Simple sunscreen I am currently using.
Boots Lavender & Rosemary Body Lotion – It smelled great
but the heavy perfume kind of stung my dry legs. I do better with less scented
products.
Vaseline Essential Moisture Body Lotion – Meh. It was cheap
and worked ok though it left me a little greasy.
Estee Lauder Pleasure Perfume Sample – I wasn’t a massive
fan of this. It was just too floral and plain, it had no complexity.
Not pictured is yet another can of Batiste Brunette (love).
I also had to throw out the last of my coloured ELF Studio Cream eyeliners.
They have totally dried out to the point where they just fell out of the pots.
Why this happened I would love to know as the black one I bought months before
these is still perfectly fine.
I don’t see many things getting finished next month. I just
seem to have had a run of lots of things coming to an end all at the same time!

ah that's such a shame about the ELF liners, that happened to a MAC fluidline of mine - needless to say I was a bit miffed
ReplyDeletegood job good job! :D
ReplyDeleteOh no, how annoying for it to happen to a MAC one Claire! At least the ELF ones are cheaper. I just don't understand why the colours dry up so quickly when the black one lasts forever.
ReplyDeleteThank you lovely :-) I've been trying Jacq!
xxx
That happened to me too with the ELF Cream Liners. The Plum one I had only used once as well, though the black for me too is still working fine.
ReplyDeleteYou got through a lot this month. I too had a successful month, I am trying to prepare the way for all the Christmas goodies I am hoping to receive!
ReplyDeleteGel eyeliners seem to dry up so fast. I don't bother buying them any more. as I've given up on them.
ReplyDeleteYou and Liz are my heroes Claire!
Great post hun. Told you I would comment. I do live that brunette dry shampoo, they should really make it is bigger bottles. X
ReplyDeleteOmg those gel liners O__O Some of my gel liners are quite dried out, I think I'll go tip them upside down and see if they fall out too! haha
ReplyDeleteI thought it was just me with the ELF cream liners, but from the first day it was never as soft as the black, must be the initial formulation of it. Well at least they were cheap!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all great job on the empties ;) I REALLY support that... I try to do it myself: if not we are just trashing money, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteBUT, I'm quite disappointed about the ELF liners... I just bought the purple one: ordered yesterday!! :/ If may be worth contacting ELF to let them know that (I will do it because maybe they are not aware!) :) Oh well...
Great post!!! ;)
xx Raquel
OH MY GOD, you finished a P10P! Congratulations!!! I've never heard of anyone actually finishing one. *bows to you*
ReplyDeleteLMAO @ the Elf shadows falling out! I've never seen that either, though I am watching a MAC Paint Pot with the dry ring around the edge, wondering if the same thing will happen.
I don't like Estee Lauder Pleasures either. It always turns weirdly funky on me.
Thank you for the comments lovelies :-) Sorry I've been away with work so wasn't able to reply xxxx
