Sleek Pout Paints

I have had these for literally months now and I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to write about them. I love them! The OCC lip tars have appealed to me but their price and the fact that I can only get them online put me off. The Sleek Pout Paints are available at Superdrug and cost just £4.99 for 8ml (more product than I can see myself using in this lifetime). Yes the colour range isn’t as wide as the OCC lip tars but therein lies the charm of these products. Can’t find the perfect shade? Then make it!

These aren’t a lipgloss, they are much more opaque and last longer than most lipsticks I own on the lips. They come in a squeezey tube with a thin nozzle. I like this design as it means you dispense the tiniest amount, you really do need very little of these. Use too much and you run the risk of the deeper colours bleeding a little. A lip brush is definitely required. Despite lasting well (about 4 hours on me and I am a notorious lip product eater(by which I mean I lick my lips a lot, I don’t snack on lippies)) They have a semi matte finish. It’s not glossy but it isn’t dry or tight on the lips. They have a sweet artificial fruit scent but not too much taste.

Initially I bought 162 Milkshake (and almost neon peach, more sheer than all the other shades I own), 153 Cloud 9 (a pure opaque white. I did a lip swatch but it looked *ahem* a bit porno so I won’t be posting it), 157 Pin Up (a deep claret red, stunning!) and 163 Peek-a-bloo (blue! This and cloud 9 are designed for mixing more than wearing but I like the picture of the Smurf lips....)

Of course I couldn’t just leave it there. I had to go back for more! 159 Port (deep raspberry pink) and 154 Mauve Over (a surprisingly wearable purple shade) came home with me soon after the first four.

These do have a slight tendency to separate a little in the tube if left unused for a few weeks. A couple of minutes squishing them up soon solves this. Aside from this minor niggle I do love these. A retractable lip brush is a good idea for on the go top ups though x

  1. I drool everytime someone features Mauve Over in a post, even though I know I have OCC Katricia and Demure and could make a similar shade myself >__<

  6. Ooh, I've never tried these, but I love the red one and the bottom two, so maybe I should check them out next time I'm in Superdrug.

  7. I have six of these and I really need to use them more! I haven't even tried mixing them yet, I love Pin-Up and Port so much on their own!

  8. I'm a big fan of Sleek products. These pout paints are sure fun to mix together to create new colors. I still have not been successful in creating a brownish red color. It either becomes too orange or too maroonish color =)

  9. Hi Christina, you can get them in Superdrugs with a Sleek stand (the one on Sauchiehall and the one in Braehead both have them). Or they are online here http://www.sleekmakeup.com/en/products/pout-paint-pin-up-sleek-makeup-485.aspx :-) Hope that helps x

They are definitely worth trying out Anita, if nothing else they are just totally different to anything that is out these on the high street!

Pin Up and Port are my favourites too Julianne! I am guilty of not mixing these up as much as I should but they are good fun!

Haha yeah they are pretty good Tracy :-)

I really think they need to add a black and a yellow to let us mix more colours Crissylex. The whole collection leans a touch cool toned really apart from a couple of peachy shades. IT does make it difficult to mix deeper shades.
