Are we there yet?

January 1st seems like a long time ago doesn’t it? I’m not complaining. I don’t want this year to wiz by like 2011 did! But have I been making good use of my time? Ish. My resolutions have not been forgotten.

With regards to my HR course.... I freaking did it! Done! Fini! Champagne all round! Of course I have to wait for the CIPD to accredit it in April so I don’t have my certificate yet but the work is done. Sighs of relief all round.

With my read 50 books in a year challenge things are progressing more slowly. February was mainly taken up with getting my course finished but I’m back on track now. More book reviews to come on my other blog.

My no buy would be a roaring success except I’m a muppet and went on holiday at the beginning of February having forgotten to pack any mascara...  Seriously I was doing my makeup in the car on the way down (as you do) (no I wasn’t driving) and realised I didn’t have any. Cue emergency stop en route to pick up Rimmel Scandeleyes. Other than that I haven’t bought a thing though.

In other news I think I have finally settled on a blog lay out I love and won't be changing it again any time soon (although I may tinker with the header from time to time). It just looks cleaner this way. I like it!

I figure if I keep the no buy going to the end of April I will be satisfied. So what about you lot? Has everyone forgotten their New Years Resolutions? Or are you trudging through a no buy/ ten pan style project too? Or perhaps you’ve achieved something you want to boast about recently? Pats on the back due all round methinks x

P.S. Why is everything 'all round' in this post? Odd.

  1. Congrats on your resolutions and on completing your course! :)

I'm still on path with my resolution but they are coming along more slowly than I'd like. I haven't managed the "get my nail polish untrieds below 50" resolution yet. :/

  2. As I said before, big congrats on completing your course. :)

My biggest "beauty" resolution was to spend less than £500 a month (yes I know, it's still a lot of money and yes, I know it's a ridiculous budget, but I seriously don't spend on anything else), and I've failed again, but not by too much, so I'm hoping to finally stick with it this month. Of course with Mac just putting out 9 collections this month it won't be easy - sigh.

    1. Thanks m'dear :-) As I've said, if you have the money it's yours to spend as you see fit. I can't be doing with people saying 'oh you spend too much on cosmetics'. Whatever budget is right for you is your own business! On a random note cannot believe there are 9 collections out in 1 month... can't help but feel that MAC are taking the p*** a bit now! x

  3. Congrats on completing your course :)

I've been following a no buy this year for cosmetics clothes. I've bought several things because the deal was too good to resist but I've done really well I think! Not buying any cosmetics or clothes has proved really tough :(

    1. Thank you :-) I'm starting to struggle a bit now on my no buy, it is really tough! Still not long to go I guess x

  4. Well done on completing your course! My project 10 pan/no buy is going fairly well so far, except that I'm actually starting to like one lipstick that I put in it and I'm considering taking it out and using it more sparingly. I really didn't like it before I committed to wearing it to work as much as possible (it's subtle enough) to use it up, but now I quite like the way it looks. I still don't think I'd wear it on my own time though as I prefer brighter shades, so hopefully I'll leave it in and use it up! It's about ten years old so I really should for health and safety reasons. No really it IS about ten years old!

My other resolutions (except socialising, I've really gotten into that habit now, yay!) have fallen a bit by the wayside because of work. I'm hoping that I'll pick them up in time.

    1. Haha I would just use it up if I were you :-) I bet you'd be able to find the same if not similar product out there if you really miss it when it's gone and I't won't last forever! x

  7. I'm still trudging (that is the word) through my "wear a different lipstick every day" project. I have about 40 to go. The good news is that I haven't found any I flat out hate or can't mix with anything - I have actually found some really badass combinations (and of course that counts as two lipsticks for one day, hee hee). So that makes me feel a little less guilty about the size of my stash.

    1. Good luck with your project! It sounds like it's been really worth while for making you rediscover things you already have x
