No7 are winning major brownie points for me with their range
of BB creams that actually take into account different skin types. They also
have a version for Normal/ Dry skin and one for Dry/ Very Dry skin. Sadly their
shade range doesn’t have the same variety. You get Fair or Medium and that is
it.
I love the fact that they really spell out what the product
is on the box. There is no faffing about with marketing nonsense. It is a
light/ medium coverage product for Normal/ Oily skin, designed to be a 1 step
base thus implying you shouldn’t need primer with it. I love the fact it comes
with SPF15 and it has UVA as well as UVB protection. Oh and you get 40ml of
product instead of the usual 30ml!
Whilst the formula is still somewhat thick this blends in
pretty effortlessly. In fact I would say that out of all the BB creams I am
trying for this series this one has the most fool proof application. You can
use whatever brush you like, or fingers for that matter, and it glides on like
a dream. The finish is fantastic for me and my crater pores. It doesn’t
emphasise imperfections at all. The coverage is definitely the lighter side of
medium.
This does set after a few minutes to a soft satin finish
although I still like to powder just out of habit. It copes with my oily nose
pretty well, I do get oily still but it stays intact rather than
disintegrating.
I do absolutely love this product but the one down side for
me? The colour. Fair is pretty light but it is still a touch too dark for me.
Those who are extremely pale will struggle to make this work for them. It has a
distinctly beige undertone too it too. It’s odd, almost slightly ashy and
reminds me of swatches I’ve seen of proper Asian BB creams. It’s not really
noticeable once it’s blended into the skin.
If I ruled the world I would order No7 to immediately
release a much wider shade range. I really enjoy this and I would love to be
able to wear this all year round but sadly it looks like it’s going to be a
summer only product for my skin tone. As with all No7 products I think you’d be
mad to pay full price (£12.95) when there are always so many offers available
on No7 products. I bought this with a voucher I received with a receipt for ½
price on any No7 foundation making it quite the bargain.

Ooh sounds promising. :) I have a "proper" Asian BB cream (from Ginvera) and it is described as nude, it looks quite grey but blends out fine and I really like it that it's not pink because I have more neutral/beigy skin than pink. I might just try this at some point too. Also, have you heard that Superdrug has a BB cream out too? x
ReplyDeleteI have heard of the Superdrug BB but haven't tried it yet. If you want me to pop some samples of the ones I have in the post let me know! If you don't find that too icky lol x
