June Empties

I toyed with the idea of doing this months post as a video but somehow never ended up looking presentable enough to go in front of a camera. The ‘Empties’ craze is taking youtube by storm at the moment... would you prefer a video? Let me know in the comments ;).

First up in boring news the hand cream addict of the century finished 2 hand creams. The Simple Derma Intensive Relief is a god send. So rich and moisturising. Those who hate heavy creams beware but if like me you like a hard core hand cream (that sounds so very wrong) it’s fab. The Neutrogena was a pain in the arse simply because of the packaging. The pump stopped dispensing products when the bottle was only 2/3 empty.

The No7 Radiance Boosting Hot Cloth Cleanser was ok. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about is that I felt it just fell short at removing every last scrap of makeup. I’ve found another cleanser I prefer so I won’t buy it again.

Ah Miss Dior Cherie. You are not my favourite fragrance. So why did you feel the need to lose your lid in my hand bag dooming me to having your scent following me round forever/ until my next hand bag? Meh.

The Kiehls body lotion (sample) and Clinique All About Eyes Rich were both perfectly nice but for me? I think they are overpriced for what they are. For the price I would expect amazing, nice doesn’t cut it. Oh and yet another packet of ELF wipes in the back but I use them every month.

Aw a little dinky sample of MAC Prep + Prime. I found this to be distinctly meh. I just don’t think it does anything for me? Doesn’t smooth the skin or increase the wear time of my foundation. I certainly don’t feel like buying the full size.

Lancôme Hypnose Drama was a great mascara but the fragrance is just too much! This little sample caused me to shed actual tears (I don’t tolerate fragrance right next to my eyes well).

Ah MAC Select Moisture Cover concealer. Confession time: this is the self same tube of concealer I wore at my wedding 2 years ago... so what we have learned here is that one tube will last a very long time. I personally found this to have medium coverage (and therefore not as much as I need on the black vortexes below my eyes) and it tended to cake a little. I won’t buy it again.

Finally some Lipsmackers Cola lip balm and ELF blot sheets. Both cheap and cheerful.

I’m a little annoyed as I have about 5 makeup products that are so close to being finished but just didn’t quite make it into this months post! Oh well. Have you done an empties post/ video> If so please leave the links below! x
