ELF Personal Blend Foundation SPF 15

I’m a sucker for a gimmick so as soon as I spotted this on the ELF website in the basket it went. This is a mineral foundation but the big selling point is that you get 4 shades within the one container. This appeals as I like using mineral foundation over the top of lighter coverage products such as tinted moisturisers, especially in the summer when my Bare Minerals Matte might be a touch too light. With this you have a range of shades to take you through the seasons!

For £8 you get 7.93g (what an odd amount :s) of product all together. I have the lightest one, obviously, which contains Porcelain, Fair, Light and Beige. Porcelain is fab for lightening up base products that are too dark, Beige is fab for the opposite!

The product itself leaves a matte finish and the coverage is definitely pretty light. I can wear it on its own and it even things out pretty well although I definitely need concealer. But as I said I prefer using it over light coverage bases. I like the packaging a lot! The twisting dial to let out the desired shade means it’s travel friendly and won’t let too much product out at a time.

The texture is slightly less finely milled than my Bare Minerals foundation, it seems ever so slightly clumpy almost? Once it’s buffed into the skin though you wouldn’t ever know as it goes on smoothly. I actually find the Studio face kabuki from ELF works brilliantly to apply this.

So yes it’s a gimmick but for once I think it’s on that works! I’ve travelled with this twice and have found it really handy. And I know the shade range will work for me all year round so frankly I consider this a bit of a bargain! And the SPF 15 is always a welcome bonus X

  1. Hmmm interesting. The lighter two shades look extremely bright, but that's not a bad thing. Don't need to worry about going paler in the winter and tanning in the summer then!

    1. My arms a much, much darker than my face. Believe it or not in the Spring when I got this the two lighter shades worked really well for me! Because the coverage is quite light they sheer out quite a bit :) x
