Sleek 2012 Collection Glory I-Divine Palette

Finally!!! You all know I collect Sleek palettes but honestly for the past ooh... 8 months or so I had been considering giving them up. This palette makes me forgive all. I love it! Firstly the cute patriotic appeal of the shades named after London tube system land marks makes me feel all warm and fuzzy (unlike the British summer we are being treated to just now).

I think the palette has a good mix of out there brights a more wearable, but still high impact neutrals. The majority of the shades are shimmery with some being out right metallic. Yet the two matte shades, Platform (mid toned gray) and Central (matte tomato red) still perform brilliantly. These are, as usual, swatched over bare skin with no primer. When you compare these mattes to those from the recent V1/ V2 matte palettes these are in a completely different league!

See? Gorgeous. Just gorgeous. District and Hammersmith are too pretty for words. Circle is a brilliant yellow and we all know how hard yellow shadows are to get right. If I have to find fault somewhere (and I do, it’s in my nature) it is that I can’t help feel that this palette is lacking something. For some reason I just assumed there would be a stark, matte white in there. Tube is gorgeous but it’s more champagne than white. I know it’s a cliché but if you have the red and the blue, why not the white too?

Enough whining. For the first time in too long this is a Sleek palette I can honestly say yes, you do need this in your life! I'm pretty sure this is limited edition and part of the 2012 collection. There is a blush a pout paint from the same collection which personally didn't appeal to me X

    1. I really think the quality is worth it on this one. Even I thought the London theme was cute and I haven't been there for years! x

  2. the pigmentation reminds me of the palettes I am used to know and enjoy from sleek palettes. I just want it for the red though but the red seems a bit too neon for me. aaa i don't know xx
You're making it very difficult for me to resist

    1. I really does feel more like the old palettes which I much prefer. I may need to swatch the red over a dark base and see how it looks over that. It is a very bright shade I will admit but I like it :) Can you swatch it in store? x

  3. I picked this up too, but haven't even swatched it yet. I'm personally glad there isn't a matte black or white in it, I'm bored with blacks and the whole red-white-blue things is strating to annoy me. I'm not British, so it's all a bit too much now with the Jubilee and the Olympics. Sorry, rant over. :)

    1. Haha rant away! I think we will all have had a bit too much of it all by the time the Olympics are over but for now I'm secretly enjoying it all a bit. I don't miss the matte black as I have so many in other palettes x

  5. Glad this is getting such good reviews, I haven't bought a Sleek palette since last August and even then that was a present for my sister, not for me! I've gotta get it for the matte grey, if nothing else!
