Dita Von Teese Eau de Parfum

I adore Dita Von Teese. I think she is the sexiest damn woman on planet Earth. Gorgeous, stylish and in every interview I’ve ever seen with her she is witty, articulate and most of all classy. She somehow manages to talk about the smuttiest topics whilst sounding like the classiest lady around. Witchcraft I tell thee. My husband knows I’m a big fan so clever boy that he is purchased this fragrance for me for Christmas. He paid £23.75 for the 40ml bottle (the smaller bottle is a completely different shape and lacks the atomizer) from Cheap Smells.

The packaging is so vintage and adorable. The black glass looks chic and the tassel is very boudoir. It looks a little deco and I love it. The bottle comes with a screw lid to prevent any leaking as the atomiser will leak if you turn it upside down. When you have attached the atomiser spray you simply squeeze the bulb to spritz the fragrance. Because I’m a giant child I find this hilarious. There I am. Sat at my dressing table acting like a proper lady. I pick up for gorgeous bottle of exquisite fragrance and *squish*. It makes the least glamorous noise ever. A kind of wet squishing sound. It makes me giggle every time because it is so incongruous with the imagery that the bottle creates. Moving on...

According to the experts the notes are as follows.

“ The fragrance opens with fresh bergamot, peony and Bourbon pepper, while the heart of Bulgarian rose, Tahitian tiare flower and jasmine is placed on a warm base of incense, patchouli, musk, guaiac wood and sandalwood.

To me this is a heavy floral and although it’s not mentioned in the scent description I personally smell a lot of gardenia in here. It smells a little powdery but the woody notes stop it just short of being too floral for me. this is not your grandmothers perfume although you might mistake it for an old fashioned fragrance at first. As it dried down it remains strong, noticeable and unapologetically feminine. This is not a fresh, clean fragrance. It’s a full on heady perfume.

This does start to fade after about 3 hours and needs reapplying on me after about 5 (doesn’t bother me, I like making it ‘squish’ :p) In short I love it. I do believe Boots have started stocking at least the smaller size so if you can, and you like floral fragrances, give it a sniff!

  1. This bottle is so glam! I'd have it out on my dressing table all the time, even if it was empty! i love the squishy-ness (not a word, i know!) of these atomisers! Perfume never lasts long on me so i would probably have to re-apply a bit sooner than 5 hours, but i'm so used to that!

I will give this a sniff next time i'm passing a Boots!
