This gift set was part of the holiday collection but on the
off chance that you can still find some lurking on counters (I saw some of the
sets at Glasgow Airport a couple of days ago), at CCO’s or that MAC re-promote
the shades I thought I would post swatches anyway.
For £25.50 you get 4 lipglass housed in an adorable
cardboard box that I will definitely be reusing! The packaging of the tubes
themselves feels like a heavier plastic than the Lipglass I have bought in the
past from MAC and there is a bow design printed on the front of the tubes. You
get 1 in the Dazzleglass formula (Boys Go Crazy 2.6g), 1 Dazzleglass Creme
(Demure 1.9g) and 2 Cremesheen (Going Casual and Colour Saturation 1.9g). The
Dazzlglass and Dazzleglass Creme formulas come with brush applicators, the
Cremesheen glass tubes have doe foot applicators.
(you can click on all my picture to enlarge them)
All of these lack the tacky texture I’ve experience with or
MAC lipgloss formulas which will be a blessing for many! They do have the
signature MAC vanilla fragrance but no discernible taste to them. The Cremesheen
formulas feel extremely smooth and creamy on the lips. The Dazzleglass formulas
do have a slight gritty feel to them when you rub your lips together but this
is to be expected given the amount of sparkle they contain. The wear is pretty
standard, 1-2 hours on me and I’m a perennial tea drinker. I don’t find them
drying but they aren’t particularly moisturising either.
Demure is a gorgeous slightly yellow tones pale pink with
stunning blue shimmer running through it. It is so unusual! On the lips the
shimmer isn’t too in your face but it is noticeable and turns what could be a
very boring neutral shade into something completely different. Going Casual is
a soft, creamy rose shade. This definitely falls into the work appropriate
category. It’s very pretty and subdued. Boys Go Crazy is absolutely gorgeous!
It’s a deep purple wine shade with blue and pink sparkle. The colour itself is quite sheer so it is much more wearable than it appears in the tube. I’ve been loving
wearing this shade over the Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Crush for a vampy
berry lip and have received a fair few compliments on the combination! Finally
Colour Saturation is a creamy red/ purple which goes on the lips slightly
brighter than it appears in the tube.
Swatched left to right: Demure, Going Casual, Boys Go Crazy
and Colour Saturation
Lip swatches in the same order.
FYI for anyone who lives in the UK this link takes to a list
where you can find your nearest CCO (Cosmetic Company Outlet) done by Charlotte at Lipglossiping. The post is a couple of years old now so check the shop is
still there before travelling!!
