Wish List: Body Oils

I clearly have some sort of problem (just the one dear?). I have a daft amount of body lotion for someone who is too lazy to apply it every day. See?

But the truth is I should apply them every day (not all, one at a time obviously) because if I don’t I end up complaining that my skin is dry, flaky and itchy. So I’m making an effort to use up some of these and when I do I’m going to treat myself to a body oil. I don’t know why I’m so intrigued by the concept of a body oil. It just sounds a little bit decadent and luxurious to me. Here are the products I’m lusting after right now but if you’ve tried a body oil and think I need to take a look at it please do let me know in the comments!

I love Neutrogena Norwegian Formula hand creams so when I spotted that there is a Neutrogena Norwegian Formula body oil my ear pricked up. At £7.65 from Boots if it turns out body oils aren’t really for me it wouldn’t be the end of the world.

I’m a fan of the Lanolips brand to their Lovely Lanolin Herbal Treatment Body Oil is definitely on my to try list. Looking at the ingredients list which includes things like eucalyptus oil, pine oil and herbs I suspect this might have quite a strong fragrance which I’m a little wary of. Again at £9.99 it’s not what I would call expensive so I will probably give it a go!

Botanics is another brand that I have a bit of a soft spot for even if I haven’t forgiven them for reformulating (and ruining) my favourite eye makeup remover. Their Softening Body oil  is even more of a bargain at £4.07 and comes in a handy spray bottle. Frankly it would be rude not to try it.

Finally if I do get on with the above products one day I’d like to be in a position to treat myself to a properly luxurious body oil. The Moroccan Rose Otto Body Oil from Ren (£34 at Space NK) claims to be delicately scented (good, not keen on heavily scented body products) and I do like rose. The reviews are very positive.

Are you a body oil fan? Or do you prefer lotions/ butters/ just not bothering?

  1. I picked up the US version of the Neutrogena body oil. It's not scented at all, and only lightly smells of sesame oil, which goes away quickly. I use it in addition to lotion and I don't have to use as much lotion for the same amount of moisture. I highly recommend the body oil, it really helps if you have super dry skin.

  2. I need to apply body lotion every day too, its just so much effort though... *sighs* I really love body oils and I think they are almost easier than body lotions?! I'm really loving the Body Shop ones, they smell so nice and leave my skin insanely soft and gorgeous :) xo
